SA Rugby Legends Association Golf Day

The Rob Louw Celebrate Life Campaign will be launched at the second annual SA Rugby Legends Association Golf Day at the Rondebosch Golf Club on Friday 5 February, which once again will be hosted by the eLan SA Rugby Legends.

Rob who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of melanoma skin cancer was flown to the USA after former Bok scrumhalf Dr. Divan Serfontein had made the initial contact with specialists out there. Thanks to top South African businessman Johann Rupert who is huge Springbok supporter, Rob was flown to the States in his private jet.

Whilst in hospital in Houston Rob was sent an incredibly supportive SMS by the legendary American cyclist Lance Armstrong, who had also experienced a huge scare and fight with cancer. From their remarkable brief correspondence the Celebrate Life fight against cancer campaign was born and there can be no better place to launch the program than at the golf day where everyone who is participating have been invited to SWING A CLUB FOR ROB.

Pink Celebrate Life wrist bands will be on sale for R30 at the golf day with the proceeds going towards the Legends Celebrate Life Trust Fund and the good news is Rob Louw will be playing so he will be celebrating life with us all. Among the legends that will be playing along side Rob are AJ Venter, Werner Greef, Rob Kempson, Andre Joubert, Braam van Straaten, Percy Motgomery, John Allan, Corne Krige and Tiaan Strauss to name but a few.
